Edutainment instead of PowerPoint: The SERVIEW Workbook Principle®

PowerPoint and boredom are strictly forbidden in our trainings. Since 2002, we have been relentlessly pursuing the goal of imparting knowledge in an entertaining way. For us, training without fun is no training at all. That's why the focus of our training is solely on people.

In a SERVIEW training, the trainer works out the respective contents together with the participants. Comprehensibly, humorously and at exactly the right pace. The trainer uses clear flipcharts and the SERVIEW Workbook.

The human being in the center: Why no PowerPoint?

The most ardent advocates of PowerPoint have always been the presenters, but not the audience. PowerPoint presentations squeeze inspiring content into a monotonous, lifeless structure. The workshop leader degenerates into an extra. He tempts his participants to read unnecessary nouns on a cold slide instead of devoting their attention to his words.

Text on slides prevents emotions, tires and kills any tension - yet it is precisely emotions that securely anchor what we have learned in our heads. PowerPoint does not add any value. That's why we declare war on systematic boredom.

Complement and understand: this is how our workbook works

In a SERVIEW training you participate thanks to our workbook principle® actively participate in the seminar. Our workbooks consist of "finished" and "unfinished" pages. The unfinished pages show drawings and texts that are still incomplete at the beginning of the training. The trainer has exactly the same content in front of him in the form of a flip chart.

In the course of the training, guided by the trainer, you complete your unfinished pages. He explains and completes the content on the flipchart while all participants fill in their workbooks. Simple messages and clear everyday examples consolidate the knowledge you have learned, enriched by further specialist information. In this way, you work through all the content together and with a very personal touch.

The finished pages of the workbook serve as additional information. They contain fully described drawings and subsequent explanations.

Authentic and dynamic: working with the flipchart

The interaction of workbook and flipchart is an integral part of all our seminars. The combination of both creates a targeted communication between trainer and participants, the focus is on togetherness.

By having both sides complete the respective content - the trainer on the flipchart, the participants in their workbooks - we deliberately shape the training pace in such a way that the participants have enough time to reflect and document. In contrast to quickly reading off slide notes, this results in a learning pace that is coordinated on both sides. The training is efficient and goal-oriented without being too demanding.
