PeopleCert FAQ: What's changing with ITIL, PRINCE2 and Co.

If there is one thing we learn from the concept of the VUCA world, it is this: nothing is more constant than change. For numerous best practice frameworks such as ITIL 4, PRINCE2, MSP and others, a particularly exciting change occurred this year: they all found a new home with PeopleCert as the official rights holder. As of February 1, 2022, this will result in some changes to the examination procedure. What exactly these are and what this means for you, we reveal here.

PeopleCert has acquired AXELOS. Which SERVIEW products are affected?

The exam changes apply to all exams accredited and approved by PeopleCert. Thus, in this FAQ we include all exams in the areas of ITIL 4, ITIL v3, PRINCE2 and PRINCE2 Agile, MSP, M_o_R, MoP and RESILIA.

What's new about the PeopleCert exams - and from when?

As of 1.2.2022, the examination procedure will change on the part of the rights holder PeopleCert. As a result, all examinations from the above-mentioned fields will take place exclusively as so-called online proctored examinations from this date.

The exam date itself is decisive for the changes. This means: All changes apply to you exactly when your exam takes place after January 31, 2022.

Who is PeopleCert? Aren't we at SERVIEW here ...?

PeopleCert is the rights holder of numerous best practice products. This means that PeopleCert makes the decisions on all content of the above frameworks, takes exams and accredits trusted companies to deliver the relevant content. We at SERVIEW are one such accredited training company.

What is an online proctored exam?

The Proctored Exam is a proctored online exam. What this means for you is that you can take the exams when and where you want. Anytime and anywhere. You will be accompanied by the exam proctor via webcam and loudspeaker.

How do I get access to the proctored exam?

In the course of the training, you will receive an exam voucher in the form of a code. You redeem this code on the PeopleCert platform to register for the exam.

Is there anything I need to consider before the exam?

Already a few hours before the official exam starts, you need to log in to PeopleCert and download the required programs. This includes a system check-up. Please read all the information about the exam procedure carefully.

How long is the exam voucher valid?

The code for your exam registration is valid for 12 months. It is also possible to extend the validity period. Just contact us in this case!

In which languages can I take the exam?

The online exam takes place on the PeopleCert platform. The platform itself is preset in the examinee's national language, but can also be switched. PeopleCert offers the exams in many languages. For example, you can take most of the tests in German or English.

The audit price seems to have changed significantly - why is that?

Yes, the price of the exam has been increased. This is because when the exam changes come into force, the rights holder automatically encloses the original literature as an e-book with each exam. This has the advantage for you that you do not have to purchase the technical literature separately in order to study for the exam and to have a reference book later. Exceptions to this rule are the PRINCE2 Practitioner, M_o_R Practitioner and MSP Pratitioner courses. These exams do not include an e-book.

Here, too, the date of the exam is decisive: If you book a training course with an exam before February 1, 2022, the price of the exam is slightly lower because you do not receive the technical literature for it.

Can I do without the e-book?

The right holder does not offer the possibility of waiving the original literature. Only in the case of repeat examinations, the book is not compulsorily enclosed.

How do I get the e-book and can I use it in the exam?

The e-book is available online after registration on the PeopleCert platform. In open-book exams such as PRINCE2 or M_o_R, you may and should consult it.

In which language will I receive the book?

Currently, most of the technical books are available in English. A German translation is being worked on. The ITIL 4 Foundation Manual, for example, is already available in German.

Can I also get the attached e-book as a print version?

Yes, you can also purchase the printed version of the reference book for an additional charge. Simply book it in step 3 of the shopping cart. You will automatically receive the e-book version in addition.

Will SERVIEW audit insurance continue to be available?

Yes, we will continue to offer SERVIEW exam insurance in the future. You can add this extra as usual to give yourself an unbureaucratic second chance and save money in the event of a repeat.

I failed the exam - what now?

If you fail your certification exam, be sure to contact us before you try again! Because the retake exam is slightly cheaper if it is registered under the right conditions.

If you have taken out SERVIEW examination insurance in advance, the first repetition is even free of charge.
