ITIL® 4 and the future: New qualifications

The IT industry is constantly evolving - and ITIL® 4 is doing the same. With the new qualifications on the topics of sustainability and cloud computing, the framework recently adapted once again to current market needs. It thus offers users the opportunity to address essential future topics within existing structures. Why is this important for you and what content can you expect in the new ITIL training courses? Find out here!

Two new ITIL trainings - open for all

With the new ITIL training courses "Sustainability in Digital & IT" and "Acquiring & Managing Cloud Services", two new sets of topics enter the stage of ITIL 4. Trainings like these belong to the so-called Extension Modules. This means that you don't even need an ITIL Foundation to take part in these courses - because all the relevant components of the framework are covered directly in the training. This means that even team members who have no prior theoretical knowledge can get to grips with the new topics.

Sustainability in ITIL 4: Sustainability in Digital & IT

This ITIL training is aimed at anyone who wants to understand and positively influence the role of IT and digitally supported services in relation to the environment. The idea is to take future generations into consideration when consuming natural resources. In other words, no more should be consumed than can grow back.

To fully grasp the importance of sustainable practices in IT, you will gather a wealth of knowledge about the key concepts of sustainability in this ITIL course. What benefits does a sustainable approach bring? What challenges does it bring - and what risks? You'll focus not only on the main types of sustainability standards and policies, but also on the various stakeholders within your organization. You'll also learn how to plan sustainability for your organization - from vision and key elements to materiality assessment and a comprehensive stakeholder map.

But not only the introduction of sustainable action is addressed in this ITIL 4 training. There is also a focus on understanding, maintaining and improving the new structures. For example, you will learn which metrics you can use to evaluate your sustainable concept and how innovations, communication, collaboration and governance support sustainability.

Why you should definitely attend the sustainable ITIL 4 training? It's simple: sustainability is not just a question of consideration. It can result in concrete benefits for your company: from a better image with customers and applicants to concrete cost savings. One aspect of the strategy may be to switch parts of your IT to scalable solutions that are more resource-efficient - for example, cloud services.

ITIL and the Cloud: Acquiring & Managing Cloud Services

At the same time as the Sustainability module, the ITIL training "Acquiring & Managing Cloud Services" enters the stage - and for good reason. Because this ITIL 4 Specialist Training deals with the acquisition, implementation and ongoing assessment of cloud services and technologies. Using a vendor-neutral approach, potential benefits and solutions are analyzed to facilitate joint value creation. In other words: In this ITIL module you will learn to select cloud services optimally suited to your needs, to select them effectively and to operate them profitably.

You will learn what role cloud services play in the company and how to efficiently record the requirements for the introduction of a cloud solution. This also includes how you assess the organizational readiness for a cloud introduction and what a business case for it might look like. Since there are different types of cloud services and providers, take a deep dive in this regard as well: How do you identify available services that are relevant in the context of your organization? What key elements should your strategy include? And what about opportunities, costs, benefits and risks? All of this is comprehensively addressed in this ITIL training.

You'll also get extensive help on onboarding and offboarding cloud services. You will learn more about different migration approaches and deal with ongoing management through tools, techniques, methods and controls. Of course, this ITIL training also has a strategic component so that you can reliably assess in practice how your cloud service is performing and in what ways it can be optimized. Thus, after completing this module, you will have all the necessary knowledge to make your IT services more scalable, flexible and value-added.
