Attention, service management world: Rights holder AXELOS/PeopleCert has officially announced that all ITIL v3 exams will disappear from the market this year. This means that ITIL v3 is entering its well-deserved retirement and is giving way completely to the already published and proven version ITIL 4. All data at a glance.
The fact that ITIL v3 will be withdrawn from the market means that neither training nor exams will be held in this version as of the respective effective date. If you are still collecting points according to the ITIL v3 certification scheme so far, this means: There is a concrete need for action!
All ITIL v3-based training initiatives still need to be completed in 2022, as the German exams have been cancelled on the following dates:
- ITIL v3 Foundation (German): August 1, 2022
- ITIL v3 Intermediates (German) incl. Practitioner and MALC: January 1, 2023
- ITIL 4 Managing Professional Transition Exam (German): January 1, 2023
Many of the English exams have already been discontinued as of January 1, 2022, with only the English ITIL 4 Managing Professional Transition exam remaining until July 1, 2022.
With the discontinuation of the Intermediate training courses, the possibility of collecting sufficient points for participation in the ITIL 4 Managing Professional Transition Training will also be restricted. This is because the Transition exam will also no longer take place as of January 1, 2023. Do you intend to advance to ITIL 4 Managing Professional via the Transition course? Then you need to collect the corresponding points early enough to still attend the Transition in 2022 and take the exam.
