SERVIEW training technologies at a glance

General requirements and recommendations to make your participation an optimal experience:

  • You need a stable and not too restricted internet connection.
If possible outside of a company network and deactivated VPN tunnel, as this can lead to misbehavior of the training application or joining a training session is not possible. If you are not sure whether one of the technical platforms mentioned below is executable with your PC or Internet connection and you are in possession of a company computer, please check with your respective IT department.

  • Participate via a PC
All solutions are more or less also accessible via smartphones and tablet. However, we strongly advise against using them, as the size of the screens is not suitable for participation.

  • You need an optional webcam
If your PC workstation has a webcam, you are welcome to activate it so that the trainer and the other course participants can see your video image. When used simultaneously with the audio connection via a microphone, the video transmission can have a disruptive effect on the sound quality. In this case, we recommend that you deactivate your camera. You can still receive the video image of the trainer and, if applicable, that of the other participants.

  • You will need a microphone
The optimum solution is to use a headset with a microphone. Of course, you can also participate using the laptop's built-in microphone or webcam or other hands-free devices, but we do not recommend this, as these solutions tend to generate unpleasant background noise. In this case, you can remedy the situation by muting yourself and only unmuting yourself when you want to speak.
The CISCO webex and GoToTraining solutions also offer the option of dialing in with the telephone.
You dial a German landline number (not a special number) and are connected to the conference. This will incur the costs of a normal landline call. In the case of telephone contracts with a fixed network flat rate, there may be no separate costs. If possible, please connect a headset to your telephone.

  • We recommend using two monitors
If possible, we recommend using two monitors. An external screen on the laptop or a separate tablet are very useful to keep a better eye on the trainer presentation as well as the course materials.

  • Find a quiet space to enjoy the conversations and visualizations in peace.

  • A word about data protection
We would like to point out that the solutions we use are cloud-based. The data entered during dial-in (name, e-mail address) as well as the information exchanged during the training session are transmitted via the IT systems of the respective companies and in some cases (temporarily) stored there.

Unfortunately, Microsoft does not offer the possibility to perform a system test in advance. If you are already using Microsoft Teams in your company, have already participated in a video conference, and participation in external Teams sessions is not prohibited, there is nothing to prevent you from participating! In case of doubt, please contact your IT department, they will certainly be able to help.
