ISTQB^® Certified Tester Advanced Level Test Management 3.0 (CTAL-TM)

This advanced level qualification is ideal for you if you work in software test management. It is aimed at people in roles such as tester, test consultant, test manager, user acceptance tester, scrum master, project manager or product owner. The Advanced Level Test Management qualification is also ideal for you if you want to gain an advanced understanding of software testing, for example as a project manager, quality manager, software development manager, business analyst, IT director or business consultant. As a holder of the "Advanced Level Test Management" certificate, you can then acquire the ISTQB® qualifications for software testing at expert level. The "ISTQB® Certified Tester Advanced Level - Test Manager" or "Test Management" certificate is valid indefinitely and does not need to be renewed. It is internationally recognized and confirms your professional competence and credibility in the field of test management.

To obtain this certification, you must hold the Certified Tester Foundation Level v4.0 or an earlier version of the Foundation Level certificate and have sufficient practical experience. Please contact an ISTQB® member body or exam provider to find out the specific criteria for practical experience.

Once you have successfully completed the "Certified Tester Advanced Level Test Management" certification, you will be qualified to take on a central role in the test management of various software development projects. You will be able to apply established test management processes that are specifically tailored to the needs of your project team or test organization.

• You will be able to identify relevant stakeholders and appropriate software development lifecycle models for each project environment. Furthermore, you will be able to lead risk assessments and use the results to manage testing activities in such a way that the defined test objectives are achieved efficiently.

• Your ability to identify and develop the necessary skills in your team will be essential. You will also be able to create convincing business cases for the test phases in which you clearly explain the costs and expected benefits.
• In addition, you lead initiatives to improve the test process both in your projects and in the overall software development of your organization. You plan the test activities in detail, including the necessary test infrastructure, and accurately estimate the test effort.
• Your tasks will also include the creation of bug reports and the development of a bug workflow that is optimally aligned with the respective software development life cycle. This comprehensive skill set makes you an indispensable member of the world of software test management.

The prerequisite for participation in this training is the "Certified Tester Foundation Level" certificate in version v4.0 or an earlier version. At least 6 months of experience in software development or software testing is recommended, but is not a formal requirement for the exam.
